City of Stars, even though being reminiscent of 808s, still has good lyrical value and ideas from Logic that he doesnвЂ™t usually speak about, and an ominous vibe, along with great vocals and and clean beat switch. I donвЂ™t think it takes away from the quality of the song when he does use great influence from other artists. The production along with the beat switches, and incorporating the phone calls was great too (even though Kendrick did the same thing two years earlier). Storytelling about how family is and the life heвЂ™s living with people calling and everything was done very well. But I feel that the way heвЂ™s taken these influences and made them into his own (especially in Under Pressure) is S tier. TITS as a whole has plenty of 808s influences (Contact, Amazing, etc). Thanks for this, I really wanted a respectable response when I posted this.ДЇirst off, I totally agree with all of the influence Logic has taken from Kendrick, Kanye, Cole (even though you didnвЂ™t mention him) and honestly IвЂ™m fine with him spinning off of it a little and making it his own story (which he is good at, IвЂ™ll give him credit for it, if he wasnвЂ™t he wouldnвЂ™t be where he is today). I could spend 20 minutes typing up more explanation but it probably isn't worth it so I'll end it here. Logic has S tier songs, you just missed them (also a handful of them can be found in his mixtapes), as well as Logic has tons of B tier, normal songs that aren't worth freaking out over, and most of the stuff you picked is exactly that. The problem with picking this list apart is that a lot of songs Logic has made are not bad, but they just aren't S or A tier in the critique of an actual song which is what you seem to be judging them by. He had the right mindset, but failed to execute it, and Confess is a great example of that. Logic scraped the surface of the topics he seemed eager to talk about. Storytelling, originality, and crisp production over sounds that aren't familiar.Д®verybody was a misguided project. If anything, Growing Pains 3 would've been the fit for that. However, your comments don't really say your grading it by listening enjoyment so City of Stars shouldn't be an S, it isn't original pumped Logic material. It has phenomenal production and the vocals are clean. If we were talking in terms of if you can enjoy the song or not, sure, City of Stars is an S. I've talked about this on another thread and it doesn't take away from the song, it's still a great song, but it's like if you ripped off someone's project for school by taking some of their research. Sure, a lot can be argued over what was original or not, but nevertheless the Kendrick influence is there and to deny that is to be ignorant. Under Pressure takes tons of elements from GKMC content wise, production wise, sound wise, and even adlibs and what not. Half of these would only even be ranked decently because Logic was taking from others to boost himself. The only ones that even fit are probably Midnight, COADM, YSIV, and Never Been. Under Pressure isn't S tier, and Confess over like almost any track in Everybody? You need to really define why you ranked these over a lot of songs.
